Removal of Copper Ions onto Walnut Shells by Using Batch and Continuous Fluidized Bed
نویسندگان
چکیده
An agricultural waste (walnut shell) was undertaken to remove Cu(II) from aqueous solutions in batch and continuous fluidized bed processes. Walnut shell found be effective reaching 75.55% at 20 200 rpm, when pH of the solution adjusted 7. The equilibrium achieved after 6 h contacting time. maximum uptake 11.94mg/g. isotherm models indicated that highest determination coefficient belongs Langmuir model. Cu (II) process kinetic rate model followed pseudo-second-order with 0.9972. More than 95% were adsorbed on walnut shells within optimum agitation speed 800 rpm. main functional groups responsible for biosorption onto hydroxyl, carbonyl, carboxylate, carboxylic acids, alcohols groups, aromatic compounds. In system, column , 7 carried out study effects various parameters like (flow rate, bed depth, initial concentration). time breakthrough 97 min concentration (Co= 20mg/l), depth (L=10cm), flowrate (Q=10l/h)

متن کاملInvestigating the Batch and Continuous Transesterification of Linseed Oil by Using a Alkaline Heterogeneous Catalyst in a Packed Bed Reactor
Both the continuous and batch transesterification of linseed oil were examined in order to maximize the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) yield. The continuous process was conducted in a packed bed reactor using calcium oxide as a heterogeneous catalyst. In addition, the impact of two variables, namely the molar ratio of methanol to oil and the flow rate (ml/min), on the FAME yield were stu...
متن کاملRemoval of copper (II) from aqueous solutions by adsorption onto granular activated carbon in the presence of competitor ions
In this work, the removal of copper from an aqueous solution by granular activated carbon (GAC) in the presence of competitor ions was studied. A batch adsorption was carried out and different parameters such as pH, contact time, initial copper concentration and competitor ions concentration were changed to determine the optimum conditions for adsorption. The optimum pH required for maximum ads...
متن کاملAdsorption Isotherm and Kinetics Study: Removal of Phenol Using Adsorption onto Modified Pistacia mutica shells
Background and purpose: Phenol is an aromatic hydrocarbon and one of the banzan derivatives which has a higher dissolution rate in water. Therefore, it must be removed for water pollution prevention. The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of Pistaciamuticabio mass as an alternative adsorbent for phenol removal from aqueous solution. Materials and Methods: The effect of variou...
